Prospects
Getting together is a start
Complex tasks require expertise and enthusiasm, changing issues call for far-sightedness and openness and teamwork corresponds with self-responsible action. As an employer, NRW.BANK is looking for competent employees who wish to demonstrate their commitment and abilities.
In return, NRW.BANK offers them appropriate compensation and excellent old-age and social benefits.
Whether they are managers or office clerks, assistants, specialists or trainees ‑ all our employees are offered the possibility to evolve and refine their know-how in the context of various programmes and training courses geared to their individual preferences and talents.
NRW.BANK attaches great importance to developing junior staff and filling senior positions from within its own ranks. Modern working time schemes ensure flexibility and make it easier for our employees to achieve work-life balance.
Compensation
NRW.BANK’s compensation schemes are performance-oriented and attractive.
They are based on collective agreements and/or general market practice. In addition to a basic salary under the collective agreement for the private banking sector and public-law banks, NRW.BANK offers top-up bonuses and a performance-oriented bonus system. Employees whose compensation does not fall under the collective agreement participate in a performance-oriented profit-sharing bonus system.
The variable compensation rewards employees’ individual commitment and achievements. Being linked to the PUR (planning and feedback) assessment system, the variable compensation is transparent to all employees and forms a clear requirement basis.
Old-age pension
In addition to an employer-funded employee pension scheme and a co-funded additional insurance, NRW.BANK offers its employees the possibility to establish their own old-age provisions.
NRW.BANK funds an employee pension in the form of a direct employer’s pension commitment, under which a salary-related pension component is credited to the employee’s account each year (employer-funded). In addition, a mandatory co-funded additional pension insurance is taken out.
Employees additionally have the possibility to increase their future pension by converting part of their salary. The converted salary components may be invested in deferred compensation schemes, pension funds and/or a direct insurance (employee-funded). These salary components are tax-free and, until 2008, exempted from social security contributions. The tax burden is thus transferred to the time of retirement.
Working conditions
A pleasant working environment, success at work and employees’ personal well-being are among NRW.BANK’s most important objectives:
Working hours
The “EVA” working time registration system allows employees to manage their own working times effectively and responsibly, carefully balancing employees’ personal needs with the operational needs of the Bank.
Job and family
The “Beruf & Familie” (Job & Family) Agreement concluded between the Bank and its staff representatives is designed to make it easier for employees to reconcile the conflicting demands of their jobs and their families. Apart from taking leave (BErzGG/LGG), employees with families have the possibility to work part-time. In cooperation with an independent consulting and agency service (pme Familienservice GmbH), NRW.BANK assists parents in finding reliable nurses/nurseries for their children.
Labour protection
Labour protection plays an important role at NRW.BANK. Among other things, the Labour Protection Manager and the voluntary Safety Officers plan and implement accident prevention measures at NRW.BANK and are responsible for the creation of humane jobs and working conditions. The Medical Service and the Social Officers support NRW.BANK in all health protection matters. This allows the Bank to assist its employees and take preventive action at an early stage.
Human resources development
NRW.BANK offers traditional personnel development, coaching, mentoring and individual measures for organisational units, employee groups and individual employees to assist them in fulfilling their tasks.
A vision for your professional future
NRW.BANK encourages its employees to engage in further training. The updating of individual know-how and a commitment to life-long learning enable employees to live up to constantly changing requirements.
