Eckhard Forst, Chairman of the Managing Board
After completing his bank traineeship at Deutsche Bank AG in Düsseldorf and studying law, Eckhard Forst assumed different roles at Deutsche Bank AG in Düsseldorf from 1990, including within the legal department and in Corporate and Key Account Management. In 2000, he joined Deutsche Bank AG in Paris as Managing Director in charge of Corporate Banking.
He became member of the management of Deutsche Bank AG in Bielefeld in mid-2003 where he was responsible for Corporate and Investment Banking in his capacity as Managing Director.
From 2007 to 2016, Eckhard Forst was a member of the Managing Board of Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (NORD/LB) in Hannover, where he was in charge of Corporate Banking including Housing and Agricultural Banking. His responsibilities also included Structured Finance (Energy and Infrastructure), Institutional Clients as well as Commercial Real Estate Financing.
In November 2016, Eckhard Forst became Chairman of the Managing Board of NRW.BANK. He is responsible for Human Resources, Legal, Internal Audit as well as Strategy/Communications/Board Office. Born in Düsseldorf, Eckhard Forst is married with two children.
Mr. Forst holds various mandates. Among other things, he is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Portigon AG, President of the Association of German Public Banks (VÖB), member of the board of directors of HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt AG as well as member of the Initiativkreis Ruhr. In addition, Mr. Forst is Honorary Consul of the Republic of France in Münster.
Gabriela Pantring, Member of the Managing Board
Gabriela Pantring is member of the Management Board of NRW.BANK, the regional development bank of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. As Chief Risk Officer she is responsible for risk control, credit management and back office of the bank. Her tasks also cover the development of the promotional business of NRW.BANK and being the board representative for the regional area of Westphalia-Lippe.
She is member of the consultative group to the SME Advisory Council of KfW, the state development bank of Germany, as well as Vice President of the European Association of Public Banks (EAPB) and holds advisory mandates in banking associations.
Gabriela Pantring started her career in the mid 1980s as credit manager and worked further on as external auditor for the savings banks organisation in Germany. For several years, she worked as senior group auditor for a German Landesbank in London, UK. In 2002, she joined the newly-established NRW.BANK. In the following years, she took over the responsible managing director positions of the internal audit department, the corporate steering department and the promotional credit business and consulting department, respectively. From 2013 on, she was member of the Management Board of ILB, the regional development bank of the federal state of Brandenburg, Germany, and had a focus on the SME promotional business, equity and start-up investment business, treasury and banking operations, before returning to NRW.BANK in late 2016.
Gabriela Pantring holds degrees in Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Strategic Focus of Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK.
Michael Stölting, Member of the Managing Board
After studying business administration at Cologne University, Michael Stölting joined Westdeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale in 1989. At WestLB he held various positions including: Head of Swap and Options Trading for Asia-Pacific at WestLB Tokyo and, from 1993, Head of Swap and Options Trading for Europe in Düsseldorf.
Between 1998 and 2002, he was in charge of the Credit Derivatives Department in Düsseldorf and held the position of Co-Head of Credit Derivatives Europe in Düsseldorf and London. He later assumed the position of Managing Director and expanded the credit portfolio management of WestLB AG. In 2005, he was also appointed Vice Head of the business unit Credit Risk Management.
In July 2006, Michael Stölting joined NRW.BANK as Head of the newly created Risk Management unit, with responsibility for all risk types.
As of January 1, 2009, he was appointed Vice Member of the Managing Board in charge of the capital markets business. He has been an ordinary member of the Managing Board since July 1, 2009 and is responsible for Promotion Programme Advisory Services & Customer Service, Capital Markets, Equity Finance as well as Special Finance. He is also Board member for the Rhineland region. Born in Cologne, Michael Stölting is married with three children.
Mr. Stölting holds various mandates. Among other things, he is Chairman of the Supervisory Boards of WestSpiel and WestLotto, Member of the Board of Directors of the Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg and Erste Abwicklungsanstalt, of the Advisory Council of Fiege Logistik and the Stock Exchange Council of Börse Düsseldorf. In addition, Mr. Stölting is a member of the executive board of the Center for Financial Research at the University of Cologne and board member of the IESE Business School Alumni Chapter Germany.
Dietrich Suhlrie, Member of the Managing Board
After having studied economics and forestry, Dietrich Suhlrie began his career in Africa in the area of development cooperation. He joined KfW Bankengruppe in 1991. Appointed Director in 2000, he headed several strategic organisational units in KfW’s promotion and development business. In 2008, he assumed responsibility for the Organisation and Internal Consulting Division. Previously he headed the Information and Consulting Division and, between 2000 and 2006, the Credit Secretariat. In this role, Dietrich Suhlrie was responsible for the integration of Deutsche Ausgleichsbank (DtA) into KfW Bankengruppe including the organisational repositioning and realignment of the product range.
Between 2008 and 2010, Dietrich Suhlrie advised the Federal Finance Ministry on the foundation and privatisation of ÖPP Deutschland AG.
Dietrich Suhlrie is a member of the Managing Board of NRW.BANK, where he is in charge of Finance, Promotion Programmes, IT/Organisation/Internal Services and Housing Promotion. He took up his current role in June 2010. He is also Board member for the Ruhr region.
Mr. Suhlrie holds various mandates. Among other things, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg.
